CREX, a climate-tech startup headquartered in Singapore, was selected to present at — and named one of the Top 3 teams at — the world’s first Meta Llama Incubator Demo Day. This global program spotlights startups advancing the future of responsible AI. The team was also awarded a cash prize.
CREX was chosen under the AI Safety track, co-led by Meta and Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA). The selection highlights the urgent need for trustworthy and transparent AI systems.
“AI is shaping what travelers discover next, but trust will determine what gets chosen,” said Sam Hon, Co-founder and CEO of CREX. “We’re building that trust through sustainability data that’s AI-visible and traveler-friendly.”

Turning carbon data into AI-ready trust signals
CREX is a Singapore-based climate tech startup helping hotels turn sustainability actions into AI-ready trust signals that drive occupancy. Its platform combines verified ASEAN emission factors, GHG modeling, and narrative generation to make climate data discoverable, explainable, auditable, and AI-visible.
It helps hotels transform their sustainability efforts into AI-ready trust signals that enhance visibility and drive direct bookings. Its core platform includes:
- A verified database of over 10,000 ASEAN emission factors
- A proprietary Scope 3 reasoning engine
- A narrative generator that transforms carbon metrics into guest-facing stories
- Alignment with global standards including ISO 14064, GSTC, and the upcoming ISO/IEC 42001 for Artificial Intelligence Management Systems (AIMS)
AI safety by design
Backed by the Meta Llama Incubator, CREX has embedded safeguards guided by IMDA’s AI Safety Toolkit. The company aims to be one of the region’s first startups to certify its AI platform under ISO/IEC 42001:2023, the new global standard for AI Management Systems.

Showcasing AI-powered document intelligence with Llama Vision
At the demo, CREX will showcase how it uses Llama Vision to extract sustainability data from real-world documents like hotel invoices and procurement records, no manual tagging required. This forms the foundation for AI-generated trust signals that support accurate carbon modeling and guest-facing narratives, built with safety guardrails from IMDA’s AI Safety Toolkit.
The Meta Llama Incubator is supported by a coalition of partners and ecosystem builders — with special thanks to e27 for their support in amplifying responsible AI innovation across Asia.
CREX is currently inviting a limited number of hotel partners to join its exclusive pilot program. Interested hotels may contact [email protected] to explore a tailored test-drive of the platform
